In 2006 Economakis began bragging that he "restored" the exterior of the tenement building "that otherwise was neglected" by adding a cornice (actually a faux cornice of molded plastic made in China) and repointing the brick.

His commitment to improvements obviously doesn't extend to the inside of the building - as of October 2007, this is what the interior looks like.
